I wondered if spring over with a drop shackles and front hangers(max of 4" rear drop) or a flip kit with 2" lift shackles(same 4" but more drop is easy) what setup will handle better? This will be on my 88 GMC 4x4 build, other plans for the rear are remove overload leaf(resulting in 1" more drop with spring over), polyurothane bushings and a sway bar.

Do the flip...
I had an '89 with the shackles and hangers (2/4) and it handled better then stock height. My '95 has a flip kit and hangers, full poly's and a Hellwig bar. Up front are 2" dropped spindles and 2" springs for a 4/6 total drop. With 17 x 8's and 17 x 9.5's with Nitto 255-50 and 275-50's it is over and above the '89 as far as handling goes. It is a skate with zero body roll. Be prepared for a harsher ride though. The poly's transmit a bit more harshness.

Thanks that's the rear bar I had in mind also. Looks like I will go with the flip and lift shackle. Up front will be keys (yes I'm dropping a 4x4) so 3/5 it is.
