About three months ago I kept getting messages they were rolling out a new version make the switch now so I did. I did not like it and switched right back. About a month ago they quite supporting the old version so I had to switch. I've tried getting used to it and gave it some time. It still sucks big time. I have yet to find one function that is better or easier to use. They say they did it to make uploads to twitter and FB easier. I could give a rats a$$ about either. I'm about to find a new place to store my pics and they can kiss my pro-account and $25.00 a year goodby!!

The new Photobucket SUCKS!
All the features that made the site great do not work now as they are still in "Beta" testing. You can't even organize individual pictures in an album anymore!
I also will discontinue my upgraded Photobucket account at renewal. Fototime here I come!

Not liking it either. I tried the beta version a few months ago and told them it sucked, then switched back to the old way. Now we're forced to accept the new format. If I didn't have threads on forums that would become void of the pics I'd shut off my pro account.

Totally agree. It used to be a LOT better and now it's got me looking for somewhere else.

Another alternative is to purchase your own domain and simply use it as a way to serve up your pictures. This is very simple to do and is inexpensive.

I use Fotki for photo storage. But that's all I use it for. I don't get into editing or anything of that sort. If all you are looking for is storage it works well. I also have a Shutterfly account which used to be Kodaks storage system. It seems to have a lot of bells and whistles but I haven't taken the time to dig into any of them.

I think it bites too. I figured out how to upload and get the link to a photo but it's like 4 or 5 steps instead of 2. I miss the simplicity of how it used to be.
Andrew- I have my own domain name, but I'm a computer idiot. Can you tell us how to do this? In layman's terms? :)

All you have to do is create a directory on your website. You can call it anything you want. Then you upload your images into that directory. I use a FTP Client, but there are other options. How do you upload your webpages?
Once the files are uploaded, you simply link to them as you would with any other page e.g. http://www.youdomain.com/thedirectoryname/filename.jpg

I cant stand it either, but I can figure out an easy way to get out of it.. I have so many build threads with countless pictures on several forums, and I cant think of any easy way to transisition? The new vesion places some pics in the wrong files, eventhough I chose the right one at the beginning, and now there are too many steps to do anything.. But the thing that I hate more is, they dont have the statistics section anymore, and I used that data as a tool to get sponsorship or companies involved with production idea's, because I was able to document photo view activity..
Is there an easy way to switch and update all my photobucket links, if I wanted to transfer the pics to another storage source, because I cant imagine how long it would take to change all my links over the years.. LOL

This is another perfect reason to host your pictures on your own domain.

I just used it for the first time in like 6 months and didn't like it...
It's harder to up load pix.... For some reason I couldn't get the "drag and drop" way to work.... Every time it was uploading I got some annoying commercial blaring on my speakers so I turned the sound off.... And you have to create image links for each picture rather than have them just a click and copy...
Not impressed....
