I am about to start on the fuel tank, and controller install on my 69 camaro. I have a plan for routing and connections I would like to through out there and see what everyone thinks, Starting from the fuel pump module.
1. gm quick connect to 3/8 fitting on to the module.
2. an6 3/8 tube nut and sleeve with 37 degree flare attaches to the quick connect.
3. 3/8 stainless tubing bent down over the front of the tank and going towards passengers side attaching to threaded fitting on the tank,
4. an6 male to male union with 1/8 port for fuel pressure fitting,
5. I need help on this one? I am thinking I need a flex hose to attach the union to the fuel line that is mounted on the frame, would like some suggestions.
6. plan to run down passengers side of frame rail, up to firewall then probably another flex hose to engine with y block?
If anyone has a few pics I would like to see them thanks
Travis

Hey Travis,

Thank you for choosing VaporWorx. Let's see if I can help.

Use a Russell P/N 644120 fitting for the fuel module connection. It is a blue AN6 part. Black is available as well. It has a retaining nut instead of the older plastic clip to retain the fitting.

I suggest laying the sensor down in the recess on the top of the tank if fitment allows. That way it's up and out of the way. It would look similar to this:

Having a flexible line from the tank to the frame is very important. It allows some flexibility between parts, and in case of an accident will help somewhat to keep the fuel lines in place.

I like to use an AN6 union just outboard of the fuel line support point. This allows easier R&R of the fuel line. Just be very careful not to allow the line or hose attached to the module to twist and apply strain to the module connection. It will break if excessive strain is applied.

Perfect, that's what I was looking for.
Thanks for the picture, I received the parts last thursday very nice setup.

If I may hijack just a bit, Carl, in the pictures on your website it looks as though the fuel pressure sensor has male pipe thread in some pictures, and female pipe thread in others; the one that I own has male. Are there 2 different models that you sell? Or is the sensor female and mine has a male nipple threaded in very, very tightly? Just curious at this point, I guess, since I have the male threaded piece. I am planning on using a Gauge Adapter that has -6 male on each end and an 1/8" NPT female on the side (Fragola 495001BL http://www.summitracing.com/search?keyword=fra-495001-bl&dds=1)--that should suffice, correct?

I think the picture shows a male T with a adaptor, not to sure on that one, I was going to order the same style union summit has

There is a 1/8"-NPT nipple supplied with the sensor. The Fragola part is the same as the one used in 99% of applications (NPT on side) and it's what I use in the Camaro. It works well and is less expensive.

If memory serves a few of the early kits had the nipple installed tightly, then my brain figured out that it was better to leave it loose since users might want to do something different.

The basic idea is to get the sensor to lay in the tray so it's out of the way. No worries on what hardware is used as long as they don't leak or apply strain to the pump outlet fitting.
