Hello,
I am in the middle of my build and I am starting to ponder what I should do for a radio antenna. I already welded the factory fender hole closed. Now I need to figure out what to do.

Has anyone out there ever installed a newer car roof mounted antenna? How did it look once pained to match the car?

What are your thoughts? Like the idea? Or hate it?

I really like the idea and want to do it myself. I just need to find out where to get the antenna. The shark fin like you posted is what I'd like.

Nice find. I hadn't looked in a while but the last time everybody was out with no ETA on stock items. Thanks for the link.

I am going for a "rubber ducky antenna either under the dash or in the cowl area. I like the roof mount idea better than a mast but I just want mine to disappear.

I wouldn't want to drill a hole in my roof...
I like the hidden antennae idea... http://www.vintageautoradio.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_new.tpl&product_id=338&category_id=28&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=67

That is what I plan to use.

I've been planning on using a roof antenna for a while now. I could just never find anyone that sold them. I was thinking of getting one off a car in the junk yard but they all had proprietary plugs and I didn't want to mess with them. I was hoping to find one that had XM radio as well, though...

I placed mine within my rear spoiler and works great. Plastic spoiler keeps it a little away from metal...no long trips out of town to test when signals get weak but around town no problem with fm or am.

I'm wondering the same thing. It does say that your satisfaction is guaranteed.

I just bought one of the Tune trappers off of e-bay. My car is stuck in the garage for the most part but I can at least test it in the car.

I do like the looks of the folding one in the middle, anyone know what it is?

I installed the Tune Trapper yesterday in my car. It's only in the garage but all of my stations came in great. And it's made in the good ole USA.

Old cars should look like old cars. Period.....

Chrome and newer BS styling trinkets are for newer cars.
