My Door Won't Open

Saturday I attempted to get into my 1970 Chevelle and the driver's door would not open. I worked the previous week. I seems like the latch is stuck. The door will partially disengage and go about 1/4 to 1/2 inch and stop. I tried from inside and oustside and cycled the lock with both the key and post. Any ideas on how to get it open?

Remove the door panel to get access.

get some spray lubricant on the mechanism from the inside and keep cycling the latch, push in and pull out a few times and it should go. have a new latch ready.

I was afraid you guys would say that. I removed the panel and saw the latch was catching the striker post. I used a screwdriver to get it open and saw my striker post had shifted a bit, thus causing the problem. Fixed.
