This is my 1979 trans am ws6 original solar gold car. I have a freshly rebuilt Oldsmobile 455 for it just finishing some final touches on the motor an it should go in. Started sanding the car down today for paint or atleast some primer. Needs a couple patch panels but those should be taken care of soon. Hopefully going to autocross it soon! My first build so wish me luck!! :) any advice or tips will b completely welcome:) thanks!:)

Here r some of the worst places on the car... Drivers side front, right infront of t-top and drivers side front fender and typical floorpans....

The blue would look good.

That is what im thinking. But i would like to keep my camel interior and idk how that combo would look.

The blue looks awesome! Similar to the plan for my car. But I agree, the camel interior would throw it off...

I might keep the original camel just in case i want to go back gold. But i know of a newer ws6 with full charcoal leather interior that i might be able to get seats out of to start a newer style interior. I just dont know how well the seats and maybe some other accesories would fit.

Im thinking about orderig 2" or 3" drop rear leaf springs, and im wondering if the 3" will cause the tires to rub and if i should mini tub it. Also which would look better 2" or 3".. Im ordering 2" drop coils for the front.

Check my build thread I have some pictures in there. I put charcoal leather 96Z28 seats in along with the 4th gen console & belts. I like the more modern look.

I agree! Looks really good. Would i just get seats out of something else but use my seat tracks or do they come with some that will fit already?

I combined the seat tracks of the 4th-gen and 2nd-gen together. A 79 TA should have the same weird floor pan I do which basically requires using the stock sliders. The top track of the 4th-gen slider will lay on top of the 2nd gen top track and you weld them together. I needed two offset tabs for the inside track I think it was on each side. Pretty easy to do though, and that the way neither the floor or seat need modification. And the 4th-gen seats sit so low that the extra ~1.25" doesn't matter.

Ok thanks! That sounds like a pretty easy fix. Thanks for the tips

Finally got a day off work and found a nice 78 TA front end that is on its way so i desided to take the old off and get everything painted up and ready for installation. Also had my little 14 yr old brother help sand down the hood!:) feels good to get my hands dirty again!
