I have an 85 cutlass with a 5 speed manual 327 and 4.10 rear gears. I am doing a budget 4 wheel disc swap. So far my plans are as follows belltech 2102 lowering spindles with a sealed hub, 13 c5 rotors and c5 calipers up front, and lt1 rear 12 inch brakes and calipers. I need a parking brake for street use. i was wondering what the more knowledgable members here think of the combo, is it balanced enough, can it be improved, what are the pros and cons etc? my main concern is everything working in harmony. Thank you in advance

Your plan to run C5/C6 fronts (325mm rotors with twin-40.5mm piston calipers) with 1993-1997 LT1 F-body rear calipers over 12" rotors should give you a balanced, high-performance brake setup with a parking brake at a relatively budget friendly price IMHO. Your brake balance would be viurtually the same as a C5/C6 Corvette since the LT1 calipers use a 45mm piston just like the C5/C6 calipers and you're talking about pairing it with a 12" [305mm] rear rotor, also the same from a torque perspective. While you may have a bit more torque out back than you need given your wieght bias and weight transfer characteristics, your're still most likely well within the fine tuning range of an adjustable proportioning valve.

I had that exact setup on my 69 Camaro and it worked very well. I eventually swapped out the rear brakes for LS1 for the superior parking brake. I believe the rear caliper piston sizes are identical, so you would retain the same balance.
