So something I had never heard of before came up at work today when talking about rear differentials with some coworkers... one coworker of mine whose father has been a used car salesman for several decades said back in the day his pops used to put banana peels in rear differentials to quiet them down when selling! Have any of you guys heard of this?!?! We couldn't stop laughing.

For anybody interested, we came to the conclusion that a 10 bolt gets 10 bananas, a 12 bolt gets 12 bananas, a 9" gets 9, and a Dana 60 gets a whopping 60 bananas, haha. :bananna2:

Anyways, figured Id share. Brings a new meaning to "peeling out" though...

I have also heard of putting saw dust in a differential to quiet it down long enough to sell.
