New dse fuel tanks

Anybody used one of these new fuel tanks from DSE ? I was looking at the 1000 but no price on website so I called 2760.00 Can it be that good ? I dont know.

or 10 EFI tanks from tanks inc. It's starting to get ridiculous how much some products are costing now. I wish I could get a wage increase to make up for it

The DSE and Rick's Tanks are about the same when you compare them feature to feature. Vaporworx controllers, late-model GM fuel modules and sending units, professionally welded stainless steel plus a warranty.

The stamped steel offerings from Tanks Inc. are a whole different type of look.

You have to consider that DSE is most likely (If I had to bet) NOT making these tanks. So not only do they have to pay someone else to make them, but they need to charge enough money to make a profit. After trying to be involved in this Auto-X game, it cost money and lots of it. After you have your street machine, it cost on average $180 to play in an event for a SINGLE day not to discount the travel to get there. Especially DSE who seems to be at a lot of these events all over the country; that's not cheap to do!. Add that to the upkeep of the 2 Camaro's they drive.

Bottom line, they can't afford to do what they do, without the consumer buying product. They charge as much as possible to make money yet still keep the customer. I don't always believe you get what you pay for, sometimes all you are paying for is the Brand Name.

It's also economics. They charge as much as the consumer is willing to pay. If they sell for $2700, they will sell. If nobody buys them...they will come down in price or discontinue the item.


I personally would buy a Vaporworx tank from Rick. It will suite every need you have and will be considerably cheaper.

I can hold gasoline in a paper cup. Does a tank do much more? Enough said.

Rob, That's a pretty warped outlook on things. Did you just crack on DSE for supporting our hobby? You would seriously recommend Ricks to anyone after the run around you got with them? Amazing. The DSE tank is not exponentially higher than the ricks tank when you compare apples to apples. The supertank 1000 uses the CTS-V pump module with corner pickups and includes a Vaporworx PWM controller. To compare that tank to a lower level (not VaporWorx) Ricks tank, TANKS, or a paper cup is misinformed to say the least.

The Rick's tank and the DSE tank cost about the same when they have the same features. Both are well-made, and both are engineered to solve the complex problem of providing a modern EFI engine with fuel.

LOL @ comparing a stainless steel fuel tank capable of handling an efi system to a paper cup. I see, sort of, what you did there but really?

But to the OPs point I look at it this way - for $2760 I can buy a WHOLE LOT of other things. Like A LOT of other things - multiples not just one single big thing.

You dont necessarily have to pay to play with the big dogs.
