I had to remove my headlight switch in the dash due to the roll cage being in the way, so now I need to move it somewhere else. The stock switch is pretty large and Id like to try to find a smaller one for my new location. Maybe from a newer car or something aftermarket? Any ideas?

you could use any size switch that will work, just set up relays to handle the load for the lights and use the switch to close the ground. turn

Simplicity is key and I still need all of the functions of a headlight switch (ie: parking lights, headlights, and gauge lights with a dimmer) Very doable with relays and a switch or two, but Id like to use an actual headlight switch. My headlights are on relays already so I dont need anything super heavy duty. Probably 10A for the parking lights and gauge lights. Doing some more research, it seems there are a couple hot rod headlight switches that seem small enough to work. I prefer to use OEM stuff when I can though

If you are thinking about the cheap hot rod headlight switch with dimmer that sells for about 14 bucks......don't. The gauge lights dim from off to on with very little in between. I wouldn't mention it but you brought up dimmer, so I assume it matters to you. Past that they work pretty good......especially if the headlights are on relays.

I used a Ron Francis switch (http://www.ronfrancis.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HL-16) in my 69 Camaro. Quite a bit smaller than the original switch, but doesn't have a dimmer. I wonder if you could re-purpose a newer style headlight switch that mounts to the turn signal lever?
