Hey, im Tony from sacramento, I just came across your website and decided to register. I am building a 66 Elco that I have been building with the smallest of budgets all while using it as my daily driver (whenever it is able to be driven). So far I have spent just about $8k on the whole build including buying the car. It currently has a 454 out of a 78 silverado, a Zfs6 6speed out of a 90 corvette, full tubular suspension in the front with all new steering components, full aftermarket suspension on the 12 bolt 4.11 with beefy swaybars on front and rear. Currently working on planning on customizing a custom billet front grill and headlights, and building a custom center console, but it will be a while before I have any money to spend on it.

Welcome. Very cool Elco!
welcome,
i'm alsoworking with not that big of a budget and trying to keep it driving as much as possible. great looking Elco. be glad your living in the states, with that budget you've spend you couldn't even buy a late model Elco here. being able to buy a 66 Elco and do all those mods for that budget is like science fiction over in europe.

Thanks for the compliments, it was really difficult to get parts with my tiny budget, had to do a lot of tricky moves to get them, like my motor came out to be free after I bought the whole truck it came in then took what I could use then parted out the rest, making my money back. I just got plain old lucky on the 12 bolt, I was working on a Chevelle for someone who wanted an original rear end instead of the 12 bolt with aftermarket suspension, so I traded him mine which was stock but good for his. The 6 speed was just a matter of watching Craigslist for the right moment when a zfs6 was being sold for $600 and jumped on it, then I had to figure out how to put it in myself. Suspension I got on eBay for about $550, not sure why its on there for so cheap compared to the same stuff over twice that price anywhere else.
My biggets problem is before i got the parts to belgium i am almost in for twice the money.
But with a lot of patience a tiny budget also works in europe
