So my buddy at the salvage yard hooked me up with a pair of 2004 GTO seats ($150). Anyone done this swap before, are you using the power rails and GTO tracks or did you bolt A body tracks to the seats? Sure would like to see some pics and not have to reinvent the wheel. Going in my 72 Elk but the floor is the same as a Chevelle.
i know others have done this before and I searched and found several threads but all the links didn't work cause they were older.

When I started out in the bodyshop business (30 yrs ago) he rented me a building for about a year. He now owns several large salvage yards, I also now own a couple bodyshops. We buy a lot of parts from them so he helps me out on my personal stuff. They usually sell their interiors to a guy who sells them on line, I just happened to ask at the right time.

I put some in a 65 elky. I cut the brackets off the ends of the tracks and made new ones out of 3/4 inch square tubing. You have to get them up off the floor a little bit so the motor and seat can move freely. Also need to consider where the head rest ends up by the back window. A lot of that depends on how tall you are. I am only 5'8" so I don't need a lot of leg room or head room.

I put 05 gto seats in my 67 camaro. Front and back. Back seats required more modification

A saw a very detail writeup on installing GTO seats into a 1968-1969 GTO, I think. If I remember correctly, it had its own webpage. Try Google.
If I can find the link, l'll post it.

I had a local trim shop take the panel out of each seat and replace with a very close match piece and had "GS 455" embroidered on the replacement panel in red thread. Also had seat heaters installed at the same time.
