I've seen a few pictures of the C6Z style 6 piston calipers in plain silver with no "corvette" marking. Anyone have a good source for these? Thanks.

Couldn't you buy the "grandsport" version and wet sand off the Corvette logo? I think they are only printed not etched or cast into the caliper? Maybe someone else can chime in?

Yes, you can easily shave the silk-screened logo off the face of the caliper and then color sand it/buff it like it was never there. In addition to the red C6 Z06 and silver Grand Sport calipers, yellow and competion gray calipers are available as options on those applications.

Yes Donny those are the ones.
I thought that they would have been at least the same price or slightly less than the logo'd calipers.

No suprising actually. Buying direct from GM will almost always be the cheapest.
These are either special ordered from PBR - $$$$$
or
Are GM calipers that have been reworked - $$$$$

The GMR version comes with the pins installed. The GM prices are without pins in almost all cases. I have a set that was red but have been stripped to bare aluminum.

I don't know what GMR's prices are, however the "generic" silver PBR calipers are less expensive than any of the logo'd "GM" options, at least they are through us, by about $40 per pair up front and $20 per pair in the rear for a total savings of $60.

Tobin,
Is there any difference in the thickness of the caliper? I've been told the silver calipers can be about.040 thinner?

No difference as far as I can tell...the silver calipers are simply pull off the Grand Sport production line prior to the logo being applied. The PBR M-series calipers are not like the previous PBR C5 and C6 Corvette calipers with a raised logo on the face, the C6 Z06/GS logo is silk-screened onto the flat face of the calipers and adds virtually no thickness to the caliper, so the fitment is the same with or without the logo.

is there a price difference between the silver PBR's and the C6 Z06 with the Corvette logo? is there a kit with these calipers for my 1st gen?

I have a set of these calipers that used to have the Corvette logo pad printed on them. I can tell you that the spray can brake cleaner quickly removed the logo with no ill effect on the red base color. You cannot tell the logo was ever there. I was not intending to remove the logo, I just wanted clean the brake dust off.
