Been a member here for a while just enjoying the wealth of knowledge and ideas. I thought I would post up my current long term project (very long) As the title says its a 68 Goat. Car is meridian turq with the same interior. Originally it was 400 std hp, TH400, AC, PS, PDB. The car was given to me at he age of 15 (see pic) by an uncle. The car had spent its life in the west until I drug it back to E.TN. Upon arrival home I promptly began work. It had a 455 olds in it that hadn't ran in 15 years, and after my dad showing me "points" and cleaning them, primed the carb and it fired up. At that point I wanted to semi restore the car with a Pontiac engine and enjoy. Began by disassembling the front end, cleaning parts, buying pieces ect. I had collected quite abit (enough to just about put the car back on the road when it was brought to my attention that by removing the gas tank and a few body bolts I could really do this right. That sounded great, but became overwhelming in time and cost and the car was put on the back burner. Finished high school, went to college, worked at a dealership, started teaching High School Auto Tech, married, built a house, have three great kids, moved the car from basement, to shop, to barn, to current basement and here I am. Just like many of you $ are limited, but I have no deadline (except before dying). I have owned this car for 16 years now, but have yet to ever drive it. Plans include. c5 brakes, many components from sc&c, original color, real Pontiac drivetrain, and fun with family. First two pics is how I found the car and getting ready to bring it home (I was 15) and the last are my lead technicians:)

Welcome to the board! Got to love 68 GTO's...... we have a '68 GTO convertible project car.

I'm sure the car will be great when you finish it....... BTW: what do you have planned for it at this point?

Well it is a continual progression of reading, thinking and dreaming. I try to collect parts as they come up and I can afford. So far I have collected a set of C5 calipers and brackets, a set of Kore 3 brackets for a BOP rearend. My plan for now is a set of tall upper and lower ball joints and SPC upper arms. I have used them before on another project and do like them, but am open to other options. I like just the body bolts to seperate the frame and body. We have built a rotator in my class at school and will get the body up on it. The frame will be rewelded, boxed, and straightened as needed. I like what HPI customs has done with there reinforcment kit and may employ some of those ideas. Definately looking for imput there. I just purchased Marks book on making a muscle car handle and looking for ideas from it. I don't look to put a cage in the car, but stiffin and strengthen as much as I can. I really appreciate "roadbuster" build and look to do similar things. Here is that link https://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?44437-68-GTO-Project&highlight=roadbuster
