Neat car, but DON'T CALL IT A GNX!!!! Too many doors!! Maybe a GZX or a GWX or something else, just not that!

Not a fan of bringing back the name out of preservation but if they can get 300 hp out of a NA 6 banger nowadays, I would think a turbo 6 could push 400hp and be a fun car.

Alpha platform I hope. I think this car will have tons of potential as long as they don't let it get too bloated like most of the cars we build 'Merica

Other than the recent intro of the SS and the Camaro and Vette lineup, GM is building some very boring cars. The Buick lineup however has some great lines. I was tempted by the GS, this however looks even better. A v6 with twins would be killer.

I'll admit, it's weird. I don't mind all the Chevy stuff but there is something about GM making it this far through the retro craze that they should leave that one alone. I'm not even that big of a fan of the original GN, maybe because its an actual name, not a past RPO code.
I will admit that LT1 is lame. They still have a ton of iconic engine codes to use and they go to LT1 for the 3rd time. How about L72 or L79?

Next CTS to get 420 hp twin turbo V6, maybe that will make way in the Buick?

I guess I'm going against the grain here, but that car is hideous IMO, and I hate to see legendary names like GN and GNX attached to it. I guess GM didn't learn from putting the GTO nameplate on a mundane (although well performing) car.

I honestly cant tell much of a difference between the few Buick car models that are out there. They all look identical to me. And thats boring to me.
But driving it with a TT V6 would be fun none the less.

I'm sure it will look like the Chevy SS with that recently announced TT V6. Here is what I think it will look like: (sorry, did this quick...)

That's a photoshop job. They just turned down the brightness on the image. I've done it a couple thousand times myself.

I'd buy it, looks nice. I've had my 86 GN for 17 years and still makes me smile when I spool it up. Yeah, I had a LT1 also, they placed the distributor under the waterpump, great idea, Opticrapola my as#$%.

They should not use the name unless it has two doors a turbo And its all black..

Well to be honest they sometimes have to reuse the names so other car manufacturers don't do it. The Duster made by plymouth went too long and Chrysler didn't re-use and a Russian company makes an SUV called the Duster.
Car looks great, but I'd hope it could perform the like the original.

If it doesn't run at least 12's it doesn't deserve the name....

Let's be realistic here. The Grand National wasn't exactly the worlds sexiest car. It looked better than the Regal but that's like saying an Edsel looks better than a Yugo. The GN was cool because it was cheap, fast, and simple.
My two cents.

My big issue is the four doors. Buick needs something to reignite interest in the brand, and this and the rumors of the Riviera could do that, but they need to do it right...2 doors!
It is indeed going to happen, and it is being built on the ATS platform with three likely engine options:
Twin Turbo 4
Turbo 6
LT1
With the GNX model being AWD.

I don't think it's necessary to have a two door Buick, the name "BUICK" screams four door imo...

Buick's demographic for those cars is going to be all across the map. Younger people don't necessarily NEED a coupe, older people don't want to climb in and out of one. The 4-doors that are out these days don't look as awkward as they did in the 60s and 70s. Some look better than the coupes.
I would WAY rather have a four door CTS than the coupe.
But man the grill is UGLY!

Haha YES!! It's the next Dodge Charger. Original GN guys are gonna go ape**** if they call this the next Grand National. I still can't stand the new Charger. Hope Chevy turns the 6th Gen Camaro into a 4 door!! Then the world will officially end.
