I would like to know who uses foam in a fuel cell. This will be a car that is used on the street and auto cross but more street. I have a 15 gallon fuel cell with no foam but Im thinking about adding foam but dont want to loose the fuel level sender. Anyone ever heard of using wiffle balls?

High end cells like Fuel Safe and ATL come with foam in them. You would use a tube style fuel level sending unit with them to maintain gauge operation.

You can buy sticks of it seperate from the cell to replace/add it to things and use, it requires a tube type sender.

What would concern me on a street car is how well the foam would hold up with E10 blends that seem to be everywhere and when it starts breaking down, what would it do to the rest of the fuel system.
