I'm using my stock sub frame and will be using Ride Tech Coil Overs and A arms etc. I need to get it repainted/coated but I'm wondering if I should have it welded up better that the factory did? Such as along the top of the box rails and around the mounting points. I have some slight pitting on the body mounts so I was thinking of having them reinforced or replaced, but they are structurally fine.

90% plus it will be a weekend cruiser, but I want it to be safe and strong if I can make it to an event. Now that it is getting warmer, a little anyway, I'm getting antsy to do some stuff on the car again before I start on my dirt bike stuff.

I would definitely address the body mounting pads. I have seen them completely rust out over time, or rust partially and then deform.

I am not entirely sure there is a measurable benefit to welding the seams.

However, I am going to weld all the seams on my own sub frame.

As long as its done right I don't see how it can hurt but there will be some benifits to less flexing.

Yes, there is benefit in welding up seams. I'd also box the ends of the frame horns as well. While you at it welding up seams in the body is very benficial as well.
