I have a 70 mustang and I have decided to put a coyote motor in it. This means either notching the shock towers or completely removing them. I've done a lot of research finding suspension options for notching and removing the shock towers and have a few suspensions left to decide between. My goal is a daily driver street car that is going to be a comfortable car to drive that can still handle like a modern sports car. I have found a couple of strut type suspension that I have heard good things about, on the cheaper side is the AJE racing kit and for a couple grand more is the Gateway Performance suspension. The other type which requires removing the shock tower on the cheaper side is the Rod & Custom and for a couple grand more is the Roadster Shop. I know the more expensive ones are better, but if I won't notice the improvement on the street it might not be worth the extra two grand. With my goals in mind, which of these suspensions do you think I should go with?

I do not recommend removing the structure. I suggest keeping a portion of the shock tower to keep load paths as designed. If the shock towers are removed then down bars should be installed to the stock torque box as a minimum. The stock MustangII suspension does not have great geometry, verify that R&C has corrected geometry. AJE is really for drag racing. Gateway/RRS would be a good choice for a daily driver. My 95 mustang with struts handles pretty good with minor upgrades.
DSE also makes a bolt in, remove the shock tower suspension. I still think it needs down bars.

If you can afford it the new DSE "Alum" kit is by far the best option for front suspension on early mustangs. Other than building the entire from end and suspension from scratch, which is what I had to do. The MII stuff is very outdated and lame compared to the more modern offerings, in fact I would rather see the RRS strut based stuff on there than anything MII based.

How is the DSE kit better than the Roadster Shop? They seem like similar setups.

How would RideTech work with a coyote motor, it doesn't look like you can notch or remove the shock towers with ridetech
