Benchmark for Performance

Hey Gang,
I just spent a week in Vegas celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary. My wife received a nice new anniversary band and I got a day at the racetrack with Exotics Racing! I chose a two car package, ten laps around the track in the Ferrari 458 Italia and five in the Lamborghini Aventador LP700. I would have liked to have done the Spring Mountain Advanced Driving School but I didn’t think my wife would appreciate that much time away from her especially since I just spent the last seven months overseas so Exotics Racing was great compromise. While not a driving school Exotics Racing does some great instruction and they let me beat on two very expensive supercars. Besides having a great time and learning how hard it really is to be a great race car driver I got to experience firsthand some dynamics about automotive performance that I have read about on here many times. Now I can’t wait to finish my project and get some track time to see if I can get a similar thrill and compare the performance.

Which car did you like the best?

The Lambo was 700HP and AWD while the Ferrari was only has 550HP but the weight of the cars was dramatically different. The Ferrari felt more nimble and turned a little sharper but the Lambo was amazing for the weight of the car. If I had to choose one for a track car it would be the Ferrari. Five miles to go as fast as the car can go, the Lambo.

That's cool. I did something similar in Houston with an F430 and a 911 Turbo.
