View Full Version : Anyone interested in a Baileigh contest?
BAILEIGH INC

We have contests and do givaways all of the time on many forums. It's fun for all and many times the entire forum benefits from them.
I'm just sticking out some "feelers" to see if there is enough interest and participation on this forum as we are putting together our giveaway schedule.
What should we give away? In the past we have done benders, notchers, magnetic brakes and metal shaping equipment. We have also done $1,000 in Baileigh bucks a couple times as well.
Chime in and let me know what is up here on PT

Bring it on!
I probably wouldn't have the skills or resources to win anything but it sure would be fun to watch.

I think a bead roller would be awesome. One of those has been on my wish list for quite a while, the spare cash is never there however. I am on a few other sites and yours/others giveaways are always a huge hit! I have bought things quite often from companies that do those giveaways

I'd be in. $1,000 in Baileigh bucks would be a great prize. That way the winner could get whatever he needs.

I also agree with this as some of the prizes mentioned would be awesome but may not fit in my smaller shop or I may already have it.
BUT, I have to say that is very awesome of you to put something like this together for us.

Just a suggestion that you change the title as most people will not know the Baileigh name. Maybe something like "Free Tool Give away" to grab more people's attention.
Option 2 - the heck with everyone else and you send the 9 of us some nice tools :yeah:

I would love to watch, but I don't have the tools to compete. It would be great to see what people come up with. How do you run a contest? Is it a challenge to fabricate something or create something and then you pick a winner?

Nah, there is no competition. Usually a company picks one item that they will give away free of charge to one person on the forum. All you have to do is reply that you are interested. It lasts for a bit of time, usually 2 weeks or so to let everyone see the thread and reply. Then they usually use a random number generator to pick a number, based upon the number of replies. The person with that lucky number wins the item

I think that HP-160 manual punch would be the most time saving/handy thing you could have in a shop(man I hate drilling holes). If they had dimple dies for that machine it would be super cool. Was going through there website, they really do have some cool fab stuff.

These guys make some great stuff! We pick up some of it from time to time as an LTL carrier.
Hey, as a bonus, if I entered and won, shipping would be CHEAP! lol
Tubing bender would be fantastic and a notcher would work also. Thanks for the interest.

I feel like I could win a most cramped yet under tooled work area contest or a crazy build with minimal skill or equipment. I make everything I have with a 4 1/2 grinder

Shane,
I'm in for the contest. You just sold me an MPS-1 shear about a week and a half ago and I'm eagerly waiting to put it to use. I have several projects on "hold" just waiting for it now!

heck who wouldnt want some decent metal working tools or credit there in. Like if give away tool is not usefull then let person trade that for something they COULD use. I had a coupon for stereo parts but had to buy upwards of $1000 worth of stuff to use it, havent been back to that company ever again,,,and they said they could repair my blown kenwood sub amp, guy I used to work with blew a section of the 5v circuit inside by hooking it up wrong. now looking for a place to fix it as its a big old HUGE exelion (sp) series amp. Probably $500+ new, I dug it out of trash so even if cost bit too fix Icould possibly get it fixed and sell it.
But metal shrinker/stretcher is on my to buy list, got any of those?

We need to find a good fit for this forum. What would be a good contest? We won't do blind drawings anymore.
