Landrums vs Hochkis

I am looking to replace the leafs on my 67 after mini tub is in and after some research I have some options. I want the best all around ride/handling compromise available with leafs. Landrum has a quality spring and with the 5 inch radius 175lb springs I should get about as much drop as Hotchkis's 1.5 drop springs. The issue lies with all that is included with the Hotchkis. I only need the springs since I must use offset shackles. Anyone used the Landrums? Any better ideas?

I think both companies offer quality products, most people recommend using 1 companies 'system' of components. I havent followed that with respect to my suspension however. I decided to use flex-form composite springs after doing a lot of research. I do like the other offerings out there but I believe that for what I am doing the composite springs were the right choice. Time will tell.

I think Hotchkis keeps their rates not listed as their info only so it is a little hard to compare. I have some street/drag guys first and second gen that have used Landrums with good results. I think Calvert Racing(CalTracs) used to recommend them before they made their own drag spring.

Global West has some good rear springs for many cars also. Not sure if they are as tight lipped about rate.

I talked with Mike at Hotchkis and he said their spring rates are between 150-180?? Whether or not that is a progressive spring or not I dont know.

Rich, over at Road Touring Customs has a set of DSE leaf springs.. 2" drop, offset shackles and shocks, he'll sell. His customer ended up going with a Torq arm set up. Pm me and I'll get you his contact info, if interested.

Eaton lists the 4 leaf second gen Trans Am spring at 126 lbs. Their leaf specs fit my 81 WS6 car. My 78 TAs no WS6 leafs are thinner leafs so they would be softer-Mike at Eaton said they are not a factory spring spec-I'm original owner so pretty sure they are:)

Guldstrand has some interesting looking springs where the second leaf actually wraps around the front spring eye.
