Im building a 1st gen S10, I want to put 275-40-17s on the front. Ive done lots of digging and found a few people who have done this but very little info on how well it worked. Here is what I know, Ive seen 5 or 6 people who have used 17x9.5" corvette rims and then used a 2" or 2.5" spacer, depends on the person on what they used and their set up,I do not want to use spacers because of the racing that I plan on doing. I have no more info from the people in this category that Ive been able to find so far. Now Ive seen one other person who had a set of torq thrust 2's with the proper BS and I managed to get ahold of him ( bad94), he no longer owns the s10 and he remembers it having a 4.5" BS but couldnt remember where it rubbed at but drove it anyways, I will have almost the same set up and want to know where it rubs, on the frame of the wheel well is ok, I can notch then out so there is no rubbing, but on the suspension not much i can do about that and this is where my question arises.

here is the pic of bad94's rim set up that i want to copy

Now the question I have that Ive spent alot of time thinking about, wouldnt the set up with the spacers since the mounting point of the rim is out further make the inside of the tire "swing" further when turning and then cause more rubbing when compared to the same set up except with out the spacer making the tire not not swing as far on the inside because some of the tire is further out from the mounting point? I hope that made sense, If I have to draw up a pic I will to help explain better, I will be buying custom rims so I dont want the added expense of spacers if I can possibly avoid it.
