I have a 01 ls1 t56 setup going into a 69 camaro with a 3.73 gear. GMPP intake and a speed demon 750 with a nos 150 shot carb plate.
I have a cam it's a Thunder Racing 224/224 on a 114 LSA. can I run this cam or should I not even bother?
I also have the stock 01 corvette LS1 cam and an LS6 cam.
what do you guys think. buying another cam is still an option but if I can save 400 I would like to.

The Thunder Racing cam is hotter than the LS6 cam. Don't bother with the LS1 cam. 114 lobe centers on the Thunder Racing cam should not be bad on the street.
Are your heads stock? What about the compression. I'm running more cam than that and have great low end and mid-range, but am running 10.6:1 compression. At 10:1, you should still be okay with the bigger cam.
I'd give it a try. What do you have to lose?

heads are stock 243 they have been had a clean up pass on them so I should still be at 10:1 stock compression I would think.

I would give the Thunder Racing cam a try. It should run well in the LS1 with a free breathing intake and the right carb. I would run vacuum secondaries if it were my build. Probably about 750 CFM. Not any bigger.

carb setups fare better with 109-112 center. That being said, your cam you have now is fine and is not worth the expense for a mild cam. Relax and enjoy.
