I sold my car today. After sitting in the garage for several years i had lost all interest in working on it. I always said i would never sell it but we bought a new house and i wont have room for it. I had to come to realize I didnt have the money or the time or space to finish it. Maybe in a few years i'll try to find one already done that I can drive instead of look at.

72Nova,

Sorry for your loss...

Maybe in a few years you can get a nicer one and drive it. So many unfinished projects hit the skids. That's why...for some people...it's better to get a car that's running and only do smaller projects so you don't lose interest and drive. So many people take on a monstrous project because they want to build it once...and it's daunting, which turns into never getting the car back on the road. You really have to take a good look inside yourself when getting into a project.

Good luck on the new house! That's something to be proud of. :)

The interest will come back to you my camaro was trailered to 3 houses(in 25 years) including the current one where it's been for 13 years.I used to come home open the garage door look at it and say toorrow I'll work on it. I finally got fired up about 7 years ago( after watching the rides episode about the power tour) and started collecting parts. Then 4 years ago went for a ride in the DSE car started selling all my stock parts off and buying Dse stuff So while all I've really done is strip it to a bare shell the interest is back and I have made a deadline for june 2019(date is due to lack of cash). So don't give up complete hope it'll be back with a vengeance may be awhile but it'll be back..................It's just fermenting for a bit:):)

I still love the cars. Mine was a driver but then I tore it apart and it became overwhelming. I agree with you Tony, it is better to do things in segments and not all at one time so you can still enjoy driving it. Thats why i always tell people who are thinking about tearing their car apart to try to keep it a driver if possible. I learned the hard way, but i also learned a lesson. The next time I'll do one thing at a time and not try to get it all done at once.

You made the right choice. I sold my 'forever' car too and now have another project I'm enjoying. It's fun and our therapy! I try to have a driver and work on it during the winter.
