Okay guys I hate to post a new thread about this but i couldn't find anything to answer my questions in the search.
I'm look for a front suspension for my 66 mustang coupe. I'm building the chassis and flaring the front fenders. My wheels are 18x10s up front. Now I'm just undecided on the suspension. I still don't wanna spend a arm and a leg on it either. I am on a budget here. What is a good suspension without breaking the bank? I'm really wanting to maybe find a junk yard car and pull the frontend out of it but what car comes with a factory suspension that could handle autocross? What should I keep my eyes open for on Ebay, Racingjunk and craigslist?

Best bang for your buck by far would be Ridetech, even if you have to sell plasma and deliver pizzas and save up over a period of time to get everything, the ride and handling are by far some serious stuff for that old design. Why TRY to make something work when you can KNOW it will work and have an actual plan in a box,,,and Bret and crew have some serious toys they beat the snot out of so the stuff is near bulletproof

The only late model that is reasonably available and will swap with the least headaches is the corvetteparts. See $5000 budget mustang.

I don't think th op is looking for bolt on parts. He is building a chassis from scratch, that was my understanding.

Take a look at our Fast Track universal IFS crossmember. It is available in either a 55" or 59" track width. The crossmember is designed to easily go over a 2x4" frame rail and weld in. All brackets and mounts are part of the crossmember so it takes the guesswork out of trying to locate important pick up points.

Why not fix it with parts MADE to make it perform. After butchering a car to put in some other suspension, then the car becomes so much less in my book. The difference is if it was basket case like the $5000 Mustang,,,, but if its still a solid car, look at the kits that dont require destroying the originality and still do what the OP wants.
Just my opinion. Kind of like a guy cutting up an original 69 Camaro thats not got lots of rust or damage. If its damaged subframe those are bolt on, easy reversal. If its all cut up its gone forever. I understand its ownership but older cars are NOT being made again, reproduced sure, if a person wants to cut one up look into Dynacorn, if its made.
BUT its JMHO. and that and $2.00 gets you a liter of Mt Dew.
