I have to say i am first ever bit dissapointed for DSE pruducts. And yes, i have been told years ago stock acc / fbody system wont fit but i had just forget it during 3 years of working on another stuff.

But now i have GM performance acc drive system# 19155066 witch really dont fit at all.

what are my choises now? I hate the idea going for batman style ultra shiny billet systems wich packs alternator and acc compressor up high.

ideas?

I'm running the Vintage Air black frontrunner, I'm pretty sure the Wegner drive will work with DSE sub as well. I'm not real sure why you are disappointed with the DSE products.

Yeah, that's a bit lame, blaming DSE for your own mistake.

Maybe you got me bit wrong here John. No way iam
saying its dse's fault any way. I was trying to say i wasnt even thinking about it. And yes, i did mock up allmost everything except accesory drive...So that is totally my mistake. I am not the fan of batman style billet systens at all, but if that is the only way to go, then it is. That is only thing i am bit dissapointed, and i have right to be so, even DSE is the best in industry. Not to mention, i have dse all the way in my car. I just prefer oem look on parts.

Sell your acc. drive and buy a corvette acc. Drive. Then buy a relocation bracket for your AC, both AC pump and alt will be mounted up top. Scoodindicky has them for around 650 complete with pump and alt.

I do agree with Bowie a little. When DSE started to design their subframe they should have notched the crossmember to fit the popular ls1 drive system.

Mark Stielow notched his DSE frame for a factory A/C look here (http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showpost.php4?p=457772&postcount=210).

Thanks for understanding my point. That's clever idea how Stielow modified the frame. Now big question, do you think there is enough room for alternator on other side?

If so i am ready to tear it down and start cutting. I will contact dse tomorrow and let you guys know what the think of it.

GREAT! I will do this if alternator is impossible to modify over the rack ad pinion.

If you're willing to use aftermarket parts, have a look at Holley's stuff. They've got new LSx acc kits that are made with cast aluminum parts, and match the OEM look.
