I just installed a pro-forged steering rebuild kit on my 79 z28, but it seems that I have zero toe adjustment. The inner and outer tie rods touch in the middle of the sleeve with no room to adjust leaving my wheels at a noticeable toe out. Are the tie rods too long? Thanks for your help

Did you compare the new parts to the old tie rods, center link etc? Check the distance between the inner tie rod holes in the center link.

Can you please let us know the kit number that you ordered, and the actual part numbers off of the bags that you received?
We'll get this straightened out.

I have had that issue with Moog tie rod ends on a second gen. Had to cut a little off the ends. This was when we had stock lower A arms with Global west uppers.

The 116-10014 kit is correct. For the other parts, it looks like you just wrote down what was supposed to be in the kit, as per Summit. Can you check the bags that the parts came in to confirm that these are actually the parts you received? We want to make sure that you got all the correct parts.
Thanks!

The tie rod bags and sleeves and idler arm are all correct, I can't for the life of me find the centerlink bag, I think it got thrown out as I installed this kit a few weeks ago. Is there any stamping on the part itself or a way I can tell which it is?

This would be the correct center link:

If your center link doesn't look like this, let us know.

That looks like what I got. What could be wrong then?

Do you have your old linkage handy? Can you do a visual comparison between what you took off, and what you're putting on?

Double checked my original linkage. The center links match, the problem area seems to be the new tie rods are longer than the factory pieces

Charlie,
I double checked our books and there was only one tie rod used on the 1975-79 Camaro - we sent the correct parts for sure. The tie rods are made to the original length spec.
Is it possible that the linkage on your car got swapped out at some point for another year?
There are other tie rods we can send you to try - but they won't be e-coated. You can either cut some length off (which is what David did with the Moog tie rods), or we can send you some others.
Let us know - and sorry for the trouble.

It's very possible the centerlink was swapped at some point. My car has had a very tumultuous history, the 15 years before I purchased it were spent in a field hahaha. It also had evidence of light front end collision (shoddy bumper repair, bent metal, etc), so that might have lead to a centerlink replacement if the impact was bad enough. I think I'll just shorten the tie rods like Dave said, I really appreciate the help
