Hello all,
I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I have been lurking around reading posts for a few weeks now and realized it was finally time to join. I am new to the pro touring thing, but have a history in racing and autox. Up until recently I have been into water cooled Volkswagens, and although they still are important to me I just got rid of my last one. Up until this past summer I was autox'ing and driving a lightly modified 2006 GTI. I have always been into classic cars and am intrigued at taking a car that has the stigma of being nothing but a drag car, and make it handle and drive like a champ. I am still in the planning processes but I am thinking of starting with a 1964 or earlier Falcon or Comet (my dads first car was a 64 Comet, so he would love it). My plans are for a very competent and comfortable cruiser that can spend some time a the drag strip, autox while still being reliable enough for long trips.
I look forward to being part of the forum, learning what I can and maybe contributing some knowledge myself.
