Hi guys I am about to weld in a front suspension clip on my car. Before I do so, I just wanted to check my caster angle with everyone. I intend to set it 2 to 3 degrees of positive caster meaning that the top of the spindle will be tilted towards the back of the car and the bottom of the spindle will be forward. Is this all correct as a general starting point?

Mostly this depends on the design of the suspension your using. If it was designed for 2* or 3*, thats where you should set it. many builders are leaning towards 7*, 8*, or more. I try to keep the lower control arm pivit axis very close to level to the ground. Leaning the entire clip to get more caster will do goofy things to the steering feel.

Generally 2 to 4 deg of pos caster works well. most cars cannot do much more than double stock settings even with aftermarket djuster help. also for cars getting daily driven set right side a 1/4 to 1/2 more positive to aid climbing road crown.

Thanks guys. A little confirmation is always a nice thing to have with the critical stuff like this.
