Hey guys, The company that I work for needs some product test volunteers. The main product that we are looking to have some people try out is our new Fuel Slosh Module. This unit is wired inline with the signal from your fuel sender. It takes in a 30 second reading of the signal and outputs the average of this reading. Ford is using a unit similar to this in all their late model vehicles.

If you are chosen to be a tester you will be given a Fuel Slosh Module at no cost. The only thing that we require from our testers is that you give us honest feedback about the product.

We also have many new products in the works that we will be needing testers for. If you fill out our test volunteer work sheet please give us as many details as you can about your vehicle. When we need testers for new products we reference our test volunteer database to see if we have anyone that would be a good fit.

I know we're not a sponsor here, so if this post is inappropriate I'm sorry. A of the sponsors here carry our products if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Am I correct to assume that this is designed to even out the signal to the fuel gauge?

Yes, sorry I should have given more details. If you are on curvy or bumpy road or anything else that would cause fuel slosh this unit with eliminate all the "peaks and valleys" in what you see when watching your gauge. This is normally a greater problem for vehicles with fuel tanks that aren't baffled. We were originally asked to develop this product by a customer who does a lot of hot rods. We have provided this customer with a handful of units to test, but the problem is that many of these vehicles aren't on the road yet. We need some testers that can give us feedback on driveable vehicles.

I would definetely be interested in this as that's a serious problem with my fuel tank/guage. It's especially worse in acceleration and braking.

What does one do with the volunteer form after its filled out?

Is there a year limitation or is it open to all cars?

If you have Acrobat Writer you download the form, fill it out, and email it to [email protected]. If you don't have Writer but you do have a scanner you can print it, fill it out by hand, scan it, then email it to [email protected]. If you don't have Writer or a scanner you can fax it to 616-608-4625 or mail it to:

I'm at home so I don't have one right in front of my right now, but I'd say the size of the PCB is about 5/16"-3/8" by 1"-1 1/4". The PCB has three 3" wires coming out of one end for signal in, power, and ground. It has one 3" signal out wire coming out of the other end. This is a small micro processor controlled product. The power requirements are very low. I can find out the exact amount of draw tomorrow if you would like? We have found the easiest mounting location to be right at the rear of the gauge. I just grab power and ground from the gauge and cut and splice into the signal wire. This product can be mounted anywhere inline with the fuel level signal wire that is not exposed to the elements. I have just found the rear of the gauge to be the most convenient location.

No there is not. We are looking for a wide variety vehicles to try this product out. The greater number of gauge and sending unit combos we can test this product with the better.

I will print out the form and mail it in if that is ok.

Thanks and sorry there isn't a easier way to just fill it out on our website. We need to get our web guy on the ball with that.

Not a problem. If you need me to I can pm you some info. I have 3 vehicles.

Might look at the boating industry too. If you think your car gauge is inaccurate, you should spend some time in a boat. Plus, if you label something as "marine" you automatically can change fifty percent more.

Is there a fuel level sensor resistance range requirement?

Carl, This unit has two very small potentiometers on it and you set "full" and "empty" by adjusting them so your gauge reads correctly. Do to all the different sending units and the fact that different gauge manufactures seem to use a different voltages to determine full and empty this was the only way we could build a completely universal product. The nice thing about this product is you can calibrate any ohm range sending unit to work with any ohm range gauge. I guess I shouldn't say any. As long as low resistance equal empty and high resistance equals full on both the sending unit and the gauge, the module works perfectly. Vise verse, if high resistance equals empty and low resistance equal full on both the sending unit and the gauge, this module will again work properly. ie A 0 ohms empty 90 ohms full sending unit using a 10 ohms empty 30 ohms full gauge or a 240 ohms empty 33 ohms full sending unit using a 75 ohms empty 10 ohms full gauge.

I've got a new 69 Camaro project in the works that I already have a VaporWorx set up for. I will be testing these two products together with my SpeedHut gauges once my project is a little further away. We do plan to do some bench testing with the two products together before my car is driveable. If you would like info on the results just let me know.

I should also note that we haven't set final retail pricing yet, but we are hoping to be about to sell this Module for $35-45. Wholesale pricing will be available also.

Thanks

Good points and something we will surely look into.

You can either PM me and I will get the info to the correct person or you can email the info directly at [email protected]. Whichever is easy for you will work for us.

Thanks

I'd do it on the IROC. It's an unbaffled tank and goes nuts on hard cornering and stops.

James, If you have time fill out the volunteer test sheet and get it back to us. I'll let Jim(he's handling this program) know that you are a local guy and we'll get one in your hands. It's nice to have them on local cars. That way if help or changes are needed we can do them in person.

How's life with the new little man? My wife is due next month with number 2. Daycare is going to kill my car fund... Oh well, I guess it's worth it.

I filled out my app and emailed it in yesterday BEFORE checking out your website. LOL - I then saw what you have going on with the company. Electronics. Which at this point I have almost exactly 0 of on my car.
