I found this site by accident today......http://delorean.com/for-sale/...and it has me thinlking. How come no one has attempted anything note worthy with one of these yet? I think it would be a fun build! If I didnt have soo many projects underway I would totally try to score a good deal on one and try to make things happen.

I think you might want to look how these were constructed, because they were by no means any sort of quality, and I think you might find your answer there.. Even with trying to PT the more mainstream classic Volvo's, it seems that support is a major issue. I have had a bit of experience with the Delorean, and I can only imagine what it would take to do it, but I would say go for it, if you have a vision.

I don't know what would happen if you used the kitchen sink for a PT car, but the bathtub did not work out so well.

Actually, to do it right, you would have to build a completely new chassis and suspension. However, it would stand out in the crowd of first gen Camaros.

Also, they were not really great performers without the proper flux capacitor, which are very difficult to find these days.

Actually your local O'Reilly Auto Parts has them. Looks like they might be out of stock though:

No vision here, but it would be pretty damn cool. I think that if someone was motivated enough they could make it happen but being as that the going price tag is 30k just to start I am gonna say prob never gonna happen. it would be one of those shell it out and start from scratch builds.

Just think how easy it would be to win races. Just set the time circuits to just before when everyone else would be crossing the line, get it up to 88MPH, and BOOM!!!........your suddenly finishing ahead of everyone!!

The bathtub car??? Where did you get that pic? I haven't seen that car in a long time. We built those headers here at the shop, they go together with pipe unions just like original. The original ones were brass plated.

The gold car in the backgroung is a '56 Lincoln mark II, I never saw it with the bubble top back on and the interior done. It has a 368 lincoln in it with hilborn injection......we did a bunch of work on that one, too.

I found it on Google. I remember seeing this at the World of Wheels years ago. I miss the old crazy customs.

That is just too cool! To bad it does not list my Nova in the application tab.

I think you are correct. If you could find one cheaper, it would be a real departure from the norm. I think it has potential. But 30k is way to much for a shell.
