Hey guys,

Im 24. I have been a lurker of the site for a while now. Didnt want to join until I had a reason.Ever since I was a kid I told myself after I graduate college, find a decent job, and get a house, I could fulfill my dream of buying an old classic. Kind of as a gift to myself. Well the time is now and I'm on the search for my first car with money in hand.

Any advice you can give a young guy? Maybe help me not fall through some pitfalls any inexperienced first timer can be susceptible to? I'm not totally green to cars, still a lot to learn, but have helped friends and family with builds.

Anyways I look forward to getting my project and sharing it on here. Seems like a good web community.

Any help is very appreciated guys.

Advice: Try to find a car with a solid body and decent paint. Also pick something with good aftermarket support. You will be ahead of the game if you go that route.

Well I see Mississippi is represented. I'm in Jackson County. Born and raised.

I appreciate it. I went and met a guy about a 68 camaro today....rust in all the wrong places, booster was busted, been outside for a loooooong time. Was very disappointed...but the search will go on.

welcome

Thank you. Im looking forward to getting a car and sharing it with everyone.

If you haven't found anything by Cruisin the Coast time you may find something there.

Yeah thats in the back of my head. But the goal is to get one before Cruising the Coast that way I can be a part of it instead of just being a spectator. No matter if you own a car or not, its always a good time.

Seems i found a 1968 Coronet Deluxe for what i feel is a hell of a deal. Should be going to pick it up this weekend if all goes well.

I know its a big girl but I'm in love with her looks.

Plus i dont see many pro touring Coronet's on here... so hopefully it will stand out not only on the street but here among all these great rides
