View Full Version : Newbie with a ´56 F100/Coyote project
Hi new to the forum and with a new project.:woot:
The project is a 1956 F-100 (Big Window) with a 5.0 Coyote engine and Auto trans. I plan to use the Ford Racing control pack but got a few questions regarding fuel system and transmission controller.:help:
Currently the truck is at the body shop, heres a picture the day I bought it:
Sorry for the size...

Thanks!
Basically which Return fuel system to use to support 500-650 rwhp ?
The ford control pack comes with a tune to use it on a Manual Tranny, I would like to use a 4R70W tranny with a controller (PCS or PA). Will the engine start? Will I need custom tunning?

Based off of this kit from Performance Automatic it should take care of your transmission needs 2011-2013 5.0L Coyote Performance Automatic 4R70w Street Smart Transmission Kit. I found that this 5.0L Crate Engine Controls Pack, M-6017-A504v requires the use of a automatic trans controller which is included in the PA kit as a standalone unit. I don't see why u would need custom tuning since you'll be using a standalone trans controller, but a custom engine tune for optimum performance might not be a bad idea once the truck is built. I also don't see why it wouldn't start due to not having any antitheft to deal with as this is a retrofit harness. Hopefully this helps, what type of tank are u going to run? We ran a stainless tank under the bedfloor. Good luck with the build!
I'm sure that there's got to be a cheaper way than spending 4K on a transmission (including harness and controller).
Same case regarding Lethal performance who offers a return fuel system for the Coyote for 1600.
Don't get me wrong, I might end buying all these "plug and play" kits but they are f@#& expensive!
I plan to get a tune from AED with the idle loop option.
