Isn't it about time a publishing company came out with a Pro-Touring magazine? We have chevy mags, pontiac mags, etc.... I would love to get a Pro Touring mag every month.

meh, I just let all of my subscriptions go except for HotRod and RoddersJournal. Everything else is just not exciting anymore.

My friends in the magazine business will not like me saying this, but I'm not sure if anyone reads print magazines anymore.
Having said that, I think there is still a place for SOME of the general hotrod type magazines. Internet info seems to be very specialized...pro tour...drag racing...SCCA...trucks...Chevellles...Mustangs, etc. Not a bad thing at all, but not neccessarily conducive to broadening one's perspective. Hotrod Magazine and Rodders Journal as referenced above seem to be better at covering a broad spectrum of hotrods. I find many of their articles will inspire me to search for more detailed info on a certain subject...which is readily available on a variety of websites and forums.
One thing I truly dislike though [if anyone from the magazines is listening]: The persistant subscription popups when you go to the magazine's website. They are irritating and insulting.

Magazines are taking dirt naps daily, and have been for years. Newsweek just died last week, and is now only available online...

A pro-touring magazine would be nice. I'm sure the articles would be censored better than some of the posts on this site. I enjoy this site, but I was under the impression that the posts needed to be profanity free. There seems to be a common theme with the one that posted #3 and #7. Just stating my opinion. Hopefully I won't get ripped up for this statement. Have a great day and God bless.

The site does have some profanity filters and it stars (****) the words out, some words are not considered profanity

Looks like the original #3 and #7 posts were deleted. So for those that are now reading this thread, you might miss the point and wonder what I was talking about. Postings #3 and #7 above are not the ones I was refering too. Have a great day and God bless.

I can. It's called a lap top for a reason. It's just more complicated when you're at a urinal.

Despite all the membership on this forum, I doubt there would be enough pro touring subscribers out there to brings PT mag to print for any extended length of time.

Popular Hot Rodding takes a stab at it now and again, and may be the mag most consistently talking about it, but even it needs to defer to drag race topics on occasion to keep readership up.

That's what I'm talking about. Magazines are just more comfortable to read and easier on the eyes. Who wants to start a pro-touring magazine? I am willing to put up some funds.

You would need enough advertisers to make it so...

From a marketing standpoint, ads are more viewed and productive in print vs web. Word of mouth and reputation is productive online.

I think I get a good dose of protouring already from Camaro Performers, Hotrod, etc. Between those and these sites I'm not sure what else one needs or wants to feed our obsession.

I recently took on a gig with a title called Sports Car Digest. That's in addition to running Twist Machine day to day. (That's just how my brain works.) It's not pro-touring. I bring it up to prove a point. Sports Car Digest is....
-- 100% digital. You won't find it on the newsstand.
-- Is updated with fresh articles daily from around the world. Not once per month, every day, everywhere.
-- Has amazing photography and galleries that are 100's of pics deep.
-- Automatically updates to your Facebook and Twitter accounts.
-- The best part is that it lands in your email every Thursday with a weekly newsletter that showcases the last weeks updates.

It's everything that a classic magazine needs to be in this day and age. Check it out and be sure to subscribe if you like vintage sports cars. It's free and it's killer. http://www.sportscardigest.com

Beyond that, there ARE still markets of people reading print magazines, the media landscape has just become highly fragmented. People get their information and entertainment from a wide variety of sources. That makes it nearly impossible to start up a new print magazine. The potential readership and ad base have scattered.

If you guys are serious about a pro-touring magazine, just be sure to document your builds as best as possible and submit them here. Get yourself a great camera, if you don't already have one. Build threads like Ron Schwarz' Mustang are epic and priceless. Thestreetfighters.com? Yup, it's a magazine.

ProTouring.com IS your pro-touring magazine --and you are the editors. Thank you Larry and moderators for that.
Happy New Year

I just picked up my copy as well this past weekend, was searching to see if I can get a yearly mail subscriptions but it appears no dice and the only way to get digital is through apple. Sighhhh guess I will be picking it up whenever I think about it as I don't normally go down the magazine isle in any store ( or even go to the store), this is was a very rare occasion as I was out of town and the misses was shopping so I was bored.

Does any one know how we can subscribe to this magazine? The first issue did not come with a subscription card, I checked multiple magazines at 2 different stores.

I picked up a copy at the local Walmart. Same place where I used to pick up 'Camaro Performers'.

I want to see at least a little more tech in future issues.

bret - I wouldn't want my magazines in any format other than print.

If Camaro Performers didn't make I doubt a dedicated PT magazine has a chance of surviving.
