where can i get a performance rebuild for my posi unit?or should i just get a new one?

Anything I've read is that a stock rebuild will handle 500 hp....think of a ls6 Chevelle..better etc.the weak link is the step down or tampered axles...replace them with either strange or mark williams and then have discovered brakes which would further hold the axles in if you did manage to break one.best of luck. Oh also get one of those rear end covers / girdles. Which pre load the bearing caps and prevent them from walking or deflecting out the rear of the case

If you want to rebuild the entire rearend, I suggest a new one from MOSER. I rebuilt my 10 bolt and after all the goodies were said and done, I could have bought a 12 bolt from Moser.

I bought new gears, posi, axles, seals, welded housing plus all the tools to set it up properly. It got expensive fast.
