I need to have a set of Stoptech brakes capilers recoated red. The original calipers are just faded and look horrible.

Who offers this service do recoat them and put on a new Stoptech decal? I called Stoptech and they recommended a guy named Mike Golding at www.thepowdercoater.com (http://www.thepowdercoater.com). Has anyone used this guy before? What is the factory coating used on calipers?

Thanks for any insight on this topic!!

I used Mike to powder coat a set of C5 abutments and to powder coat and rebuild a set of Corvette PBR calipers. He was terrific to work with, he gave me a set of rear abutments because I had the wrong ones, the finished product was packaged extremely well, there was no powder where it wasn't supposed to be and the calipers (and abutments) look much better than the OEM Z06 calipers I have on my other car.

If I have any small, involved parts that I want powder coated in the future, Mike's my guy.

I haven't used him yet, but intended to for my C6 z06 calipers. I know a lot of the guys on the Corvette forum speak very highly of his work and customer service.

Mike is excellent. You cannot go wrong with him. That is so cool Stop Tech themselves are recommending him.

Do you guys have to disassemble them before you send them in?

I don't recall what he wants. Mine were disassembled, but I had him rebuild them when he did the powder coating. All I had to do was open the box when they got back and put them on the car.
