I've been looking lately for a metal bender. I've found a few that seem promising. What are you guys using for your benders?

I heard about these ones from a friend who bought one at a trade show : http://www.barnonediesel.com

They look to be a quality part, American made and lifetime warrantied. I'm just wondering if there is anything else I should be considering?

Thanks,

Cliff

The JD2 is what I'll most likely be getting. The model 3 is $300 and will do up to 2". The model 32 is $400 and will do up to 2 1/2". Die sets are around $300.

There are quite a few places you can order one but this is the first site that comes up if you google JD2 tubing bender

I've got a JD2 model 3 and love it! Swag offroad has some great accessories for it too.

I have a Pro-Tools Model 105. Good quality tool and does a good job. Their customer service is good also.

If you're looking at one for a your own projects, aluminum dies should be fine. If you are going into business (lots of production) stay with steel dies. The manual rotary benders are all very similar in function. The Speedway Motors 1 shot package is tough to beat in terms of price, but the dies are cast Alum. and I'm betting it won't last forever...

A last note on dies: Most manufacturers offer multiple radius dies for the same size tubing. The largest radius is the best choice for ultimate cage strength. If you're looking to "tuck" the corners into the body shell as tightly as possible, a smaller die works better. The smaller radius will also be limited on how thin-wall the tubing you can bend.

I appreciate the advice guys. I' went ahead and bought a rhino package. I've been practicing with it lately and the bends are great. Once I get good enough and start my cage I'll post some pictures.
