looking for some advice on what cutoff wheels, flap disks, grinders and mig wire(.023-.030).
What brands and sizes are best bang for your buck. Thanks!

I've been buying my cut off wheels, flap disks, grinding disks at my local Harbor Freight store. They have the best price I've found locally.

Cutoff wheels check on ebay..... I usually get packages of norton norzip pretty cheap and they last a long time. Im not a harbor freight fan for consumables like that. Same thing for grinding disks norton!. I may pay two or three times what harbor freight charges for their ginding disk but it lasts 5 times as long, and cuts faster. Grinders, dont waaste your cash with the 9.99 HF special. Spend the cash and look at metabo, they are expensive but I have been using the same metabo grinder for 8 years, thats 2 welding schools underwater welding school, and structural steel work included. The power they make helps alot, and they have torque sensative motors so they dont burnout when you get a wheel stuck. The one metabo grinder was a gift from a guy, its from the 90's and still kicks ass. Mig, go with .023 ER70s2 wire, and 75/25 mix or 92/8 mix gas.

You will get much better life out of cut off wheels if you stick with Metabo or Pferd brands. Can't get them at Home Depot though.
