What size wheel? It seems like all the 335/345 are 30 on the aspect ratio so the only way to get taller is to go to a larger diameter wheel.

I did find a Dunlop in a 325/30-21 at Tire Rack. You're in luck, too. They are on special for only $633 a piece!

You're best bet is 335/30-20 at 28" or you could run these Icky Thompsons http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/street.php?item=SportsmanSR

Hey Donny , sorry im thinkin 18 or 19's max . Isnt the M/T Co. targeted more toward straight line performance ? Im not familiar with that tire series in their line up,Is it a good piece ?
I guess lookin at my post, it it kinda vague, sorry bout that .
Im lookin at a pro tour type street tire with good traction qualities.

Jerry I would also love to see a 335 35 18 be available. Last one I know of was the BFG in the size above that is no longer available. I have looked but can not find.

Then that is it. No, they Ickys wont turn very well......I don't think they do anything well.

And I agree, I would love to see a 35 series 335.

345/30-19 is your winner then.

The tallest one I found was the 345/35 Mickey Thompson ET , which is a drag radial. All the other 335 or 345 tires are too short. I ended up getting some Michelin 31/75 - 18 slicks and cutting a tread design in them (i dont really do much street drivig in it anyway!)

Both Michelin and Bridgestone used to make a 345/35- 18 street tire....but the production requirement is very small, so I doubt they will resurrect them no matter how much we scream. Maybe someone like coker tire would be a better choice.

Donny ,three different diameters
I see a Toyo R888 , it's 26 tall. 335/30/18 332.00 $
Toyo TQ , it's 27.7 tall 345/40/17 DOT drag tire 184.00$
Kumho ecsta W 710 335/30/19 it's 27 tall , Race wet tire. 349.00$
Any thoughts of running these on the street ? Weekend warrior type.

If you go 17 you will be locked into that one tire the rest of your life. Even if there are other tires in that size I believe they will all be drag oriented.

The r888 is sticky but short. It seems that is the standard pro touring size.

I don't know anything about the Kumho tire, but I am pretty sure that is the size you will end up running.

I had the same issue with one of my projects. The 335-30-18 was too short and the 345-35-18 MT was too tall (27.5"). I ended up going with a 345-35-18 Hoosier R6. It's basically a road race slick, so it's very sticky but it's only streetable sunny days.

So i checked out 19 inch tire diameters, the demensions are what im loooking for to fill the wheel opening without having the car too low to the ground. I never thought i would be looking at 19 inch wheels ! I dont want to have the rubberband looking tire. does anyone have pics of there car with 19s on it ? Im building a 2nd Gen camaro .

Doesn't the BMW sport utility run a 345-35-19? Tire rack has some Bridgestones for $400, 28.6 tall. Perfect for a truck but in my opinion a bit tall for a car unless it's big like an Impala. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE050A+Scuderia&partnum=435ZR9RE050A&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&tab=Specs

They also list a few options in a 345-30-19, 27.2" tall. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?skipOver=true&width=345%2F&ratio=30&diameter=19 Probably a little better suited for a car. In comparison, a 275-60-15 that we all used to stuff under our muscle cars is about 28" tall, a 235-60-15 is about 26".

If the tire is 27.2 tall, and you subtract 19" for the wheel, you're left with 8.2". Divide that in half to get your sidewall height, you get about 4". That's pretty close to the same sidewall height as a 275-40-17, what I have on the back of my car. I don't like rubber band tires either, I don't think a 4" sidewall looks too short....

Here's another shot. I think the Camaro has 335 or 345 19s. Can anyone chime in on what size Brian's tires are?

Toyo makes a 335/710R18. If you go down in wheel diameter there is a TON of options in the 27x12x15. Toyo makes a shorter 335 in their brand new tire, but they're hard to come by, I am putting a set on my car that is 26.1 inches tall(which is huge) on 18x12's.

Nitto makes a 295/45/18 that I've seen on the back of a couple Shelby Daytona replicas.... They are Tall!
