what would it take to fit a 71-71 chevelle?

That is a good question. AA website has this listed as fitting a 68-69. i know they also have a harness that will fit your year too. I can only think that there harness's are year specific. might want to give them a call and see if this harness can work with your year. hope this helps.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking the instrumentation might be the major difference here.

Chuck,you may be right. if you check out the AA website the harness does look different. i cannot guarantee that this will work on a 71.

A stock one, perhaps not, but the only things still stock in my car are the frame, dash and some of the body panels. This is the P-T forum after all, hahah. But I'm sure there is someone with a 69 out there that needs this more than I do. I'll check back in a couple weeks and see if any has claimed it.
