I never post but I wanted to share my terrible experience with a major vendor!!

I just purchased this kit from March for a conversion I am working on, need to move everything to clear the blower....what JUNK for the $$$ is all I have to say.
It says quality parts, open the box and water pump is duralast (autozone brand) and Alternator says 1 wire on box (what I need and its a 2 wire hookup.) Its also says 105 on the site and I got an 85. Some of the pulleys were scratched, PS pump housing chipped up and when I hand tighten the pulleys on the PS pump and balancer the coating cracked and came right off!! Granted this isn't there high $$ kit but this is silly. (It's over 1G from summit)

So I called them, they made ZERO effort to correct it and said "Oh yeah we do that for that kit I guess".

They will NEVER see my money again....just my .02

Did you buy direct from March or summit? If the parts are damaged or other I think your beef would be with Summit. Call summit cause they have a great return policy.

I have had no problems with march other than the prices.

It comes in a closed "kit box" from summit. I called March about the use of duralast and thats all I got, it was real "whatever".

I bought some March pullys from Summit. It was missing parts, but looked sealed. Anyway, I wondered if it had been opened and returned.
Think a pully was scratched also.

Summit exchanged it no questions asked.

you bought it from scummit send it back to them, March doesnt care, there deal was with Slummit direct, there working a volumn deal, they sold it to them wholesale, if you had bought it from march and they would have made full profit, Im sure they would have had no problems solving the issue

What brand Alternator and water pump were you expecting?

Any of the advertise brands would have been ok, but it states Edelbrock on the site. NO place is Duralast listed.

I've seen the same issue on the coating, and a pulley that was only powder coated on the front.

If it says it comes with an edelbrock eater pump, then yeah, I'd be pissed. Is it even aluminum?

Yeah, I'd be sending it all back to Summit, I'm sure they'd take care of you.

A cast Iron parts store water pump is not an acceptable replacement for an Aluminum Edelbrock.

Though in the link you provided it does not say aluminum or edelbrock.

Some clever wording there ,,
"Top brand name accessories such as Powermaster and Sanden"

Such as? It sounds like it should have a Powermaster alt. but they are not really saying it is.

Then they have the logos of several brands such as edelbrock but it does not say what any of the items actually are.

Their description is pretty misleading.

Based on this image, one would believe that these are the brands of components that would show up in the kit.

OK first of all, why in he_l would anyone use a worthless no control wire alternator. If your only wanting a battery charge wire then buy a couple of resistors and some wire, tear down a stock GM alternator and do the shunts inside.
Te ones that snap on the terminals depend on an internal regulator with diode issues (inside regulator there is supposed to be a diode to help keep regulator turned off with key off, some Chinese regs delete this and it causes mysterious drains).
If your talking a GM SI series alternator, a single 12v key on wire, possibly with a large diode generally works fine, then your charge wire.
Yeah Ill get bashed on no control wire alternators work fine, never had issue, etc. BUT as a professional tech I can tell you I have swapped good stock parts in, properly wired them and customers always had much better luck with charging system and still had polished/chrome alternator too. One tiny 18ga wire too much for your compartment, come on. hard to run. Please.
As for Duralast water pumps, Uhm DID IT SPECIFICALLY state an aluminum Edelbrock pump? did it Specify anodized, or powdercoated or what for other parts?
Chips on specific parts, ok so you might be POed little,,but will anyone see then or was whole chunks missing.
Also was kit drastically less than other systems?
If its listed as painted or powdercoated, it might flake off or ship slightly where fasteners are tightened, especially without flat washers or washer headed bolts.
My question is did it fit? Would it do the job? Was it much cheaper than other systems?
Anodized aluminum pulleys are not my bag, but I may have to order some on my Monza. Clear coatings do get some abuse tightening.
BUT as some say, return it and go elsewhere,,,if price is same cool if not, fork over MORE.
As for duralast waterpump, who cares its NEW casting and many are assembled here in US with US parts. Some are not. We use a lot of them when the others brands are much more expensive.
Oh and just cause it SAYS they use Edelbrock or Sanden in kits doesnt mean YOU are getting that in YOUR kit.
I bought an oil pan kit from a vendor, said it came with pick up, showed hand built unit. They sent a kit with A on end of number, it cam with modified stocker. Had to send me other one as someone pulled the economy kit. Pickup cost nearly as much as pan did. modded other pickup I sent it back as a courtesy as they DID sent other pick up and give me some credit for delay and paid over night shipping.
Also many companies have gotten so many POed people shouting ,screaming and frothing at mouth they tend to get lackadaisical in service, ask for a superior if they do that. If not satisfied then. Move on.
Also understand much of Summit gets cheaper deals and cheaper packages. Close observation of adds and asking questions tend to bear this out.
Their Fast Five wheels, are cheap, and do come with scuffs and scratches towards end of production. Buddy bough 8 when first came out, perfect, now he picks up 4 more discontinued, gets scuffed ones,,,wonder why.
Good Luck
