View Full Version : Front and rear suspension clips to suit 69 camaro
Hi Bill from Australia, I have a 69 Camaro , SBC, 4 speed, p/steer, front discs. It's a tidy every day driver. Time to give it a new heart and front and rear suspension setups, brakes etc. I have LS3 and 6 speed sourced from our local Commodore ( R8 Pontiac ),but I'll have to find everything else in the US. I'm aiming to have a car that is good for street use and good for a track day. There seem to be a lot of manufacturers for this equip.,and many variations available eg.DSE, TCI, BMR and heaps more, can you advise on good options for me to consider, thanks Bill.

Morrison makes one that uses a complete C5 Corvette front suspension. Great for modern low-profile tires if you're going that route.

Bill, I also have a 60 Camaro and have been examining the various pro touring type front and rear kits available for the last several months. I compaired DSE, Art Morrison, BMR, TCI, Heidts, Chassisworks and Speedtech Performance. I finally came to the conclusion that Speedtech Performance had the best bang for my buck. I was able to get what I wanted in a well designed and strong built package at a price that was comparable or less than everyone else. I also am a huge fan of the torque arm rear suspension. I just ordered my kit from speedtech last week, the guys there are great and willing to take the time to answer all your questions. The guys there run their cars and have been getting some excellent reviews and winning events. You can check them out at Speedtechperformance.com Hope this helps

I have a JRS front clip for sale that uses C6 arms and spindles with LS adapter plates. Not sure how to ship but sure it could be figured out.

Why not use Ridetech coil over set up with their bolt in 4 link set up and Tru turn, Lets you use what you have, limits the cost to bolt ons and honestly the rear suspension removes some unsprung and sprung weight.

Hi Bill, Can you elaborate a little bit more on your plans for this build? Power level, wheel and tire preferences?
Chassisworks offers three different levels of suspension for your Camaro. We have components that bolt to your stock front clip, a complete front clip with new geometry and a full frame system that replaces the entire floor and rails. If you plan on doing track days with the car then it sounds like you are planning a fairly aggressive build. The full gStreet frame system may be your best option, especially if your car has some rot in the floors. We can even build it with a Right Hand Drive rack if that's what you need. You can see details here: Chris Alston's Chassisworks gStreet Camaro Frame (http://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html)

I flipped a coin between the speed tech stuff and TCI. Speed tech relocated from Vancouver to Utah? During there transition I went with TCI. Like the craftsmanship, lots of options and best of all great customer support! By phone or email, they reply immediately. Evan @TCI is a great guy. Not to mention great pricing!! Tim's Hot Rods in Davenport Wa. is like there biggest seller. That's who you want to buy from.

Sorry we couldn't help you out during the move. Maybe next time. Thanks for at least making us one of the 3 options
