I think if you could get him to 5k it would be worth it

5k is what mysalef and my father were thinking as well. The guy is a dealer, and the car has been on CL for over a month, so I'm thinking I may be able to get it for that or close too it.

I'm gonna try and stay un emotional about it, but its gonna be hard. My first car I ever bought was a Mulsanne Blue 1971 camaro, so this is kinda 'the one that got away". I'll be taking my father with me, so hopefully he will keep me focused!

I'd start at $3k and work up a little at a time. Go to $4k, then walk. Call back a few days later and keep it around there. Odds are he'll sell for $4,500 to 5k

Well, I bought it. Paid more then I wanted, but did alright. the guy was a dealer and had about 50 killer cars. The car is great, I drove it 200 miles home last night.

Shoot, if it'll go 200 miles on a road trip, you got a good buy. You better start a build thread.

Not too mention it was pouring rain the whole time, and included sitting in stop and go Indianapoils rush hour traffic!

I have to say it road and drove very nice and comfertably. Much better then the 1969 C10 I just sold.

As for the build thread, it will be awhile, I'm gonna drive it till I put a stockish motor back in my IROC, then it will become the driver, and the 71 will go under the knife.

Its exactly 20 years after I bought my first 71 camaro. It really seemed like it was meant to be. I put the C10 up for sale with no intentions of buying another hot rod, and never tought I would be able to get another 71. Then it just appeared on craigslist!

I'll get pics up after the holiday.

Its a 1971 Camaro

Interior has new headliner, carpet, seats recovered. Console with Megashifter.
New windshield.
New front fenders and inner fenders, core support.
New stock dual exhuast
Short spoiler installed

Classic Craigslist 'kyrlon rebuild'
1991 350 truck motor, painted chevy orange, chrome centerbolt valvecovers, performer intake, 600cfm edelbrock carb. crusty headers.
TH350. Have recipt for new front pump installed.

Weld Draglites, 15x4"? fronts with new Kumhos, 15x8" rears with new BFG 245/60's. I know, not very PT!

Fenders and doors are in promer, back half still blue.

Runs and drives great. Driving it everyday.

Just doing maintance stuff to it now to keep it on the road. After the holiday, we are moving, and then I am tearing into the IROC, to make it a daily driver, then I will tear into this one.

It will need quarters and frame rails, they were patched before, but the rest of the floors look good.

Make sure you check the toe boards good on that car, a buddy of mine looked at it and said there were holes there....good luck with your build

Thanks, it's mine now, so I guess it doesn't matter. It will be a whole before I tear into it. Enjoy driving it 70 miles a day as it is!

The 'rebuilt' engine. They jammed it out as you can see, but its a 1991 Chevy Truck color, Bahama Blue. The car is actually ascot blue, but my original was Muslanne blue, this one will be too very soon!
