Has anyone had any experience with them? Was wondering how they compared to a Koni or ride tech. The prices seam reasonable but I know you get what you pay for.

I have double adjustable AFCO coilovers on my falcon front and all four corners on my drag mustang.

I think they are great shocks for the money and adjustments are repeatable and noticeable without being too course.

BTW, AFAIK, the PT shocks are just a color change from their 3800 series DA coilovers.

Looking to upgrade my single adj. QS1 vari-shock to a double adj. but didn't want to spend the $4000+ for JRI's or moton's. Seems like the ride-techs and afco's are pretty comparable in price and performance from what I'm reading .

We have a lot of experience with the AFCO units as they were our standard shock for a couple of years. All around they are a good shock. . .good quality, good performance, good reliability, etc.
However, they are still a twin tube design. Our testing found monotube dampers to be superior in all regards except overall shock length (remember we lower everything. . .and if it's got air bags overall shock body length is critical).
Once we figured out how to make the monotubes short enough the decision was simple.

FYI here's a comparison picture of a twin tube and monotube damper piston (the piston and valve shims do all the work):

The Afco billet DAs (which I think are the 3800 series) are twin tube - a completely different animal from what we have. The Afco PT Elite shocks are monotube and I would venture to guess the price goes up accordingly.

All Ridetech shocks are monotube. For more info about the different series we offer... click here (http://www.ridetech.com/tech/shock-series-overview/).

If you're interested in learning more about the differences between monotube and twin tube, KYB has a pretty good explanation along with a video... click here (http://www.kyb.com/technical/monotube.php).

Yea Herb the prices on the afco elite PT series are ruffly the same as your track quality series but y'all offer a high and low adjustment witch I'm sure will just confuse me even more, but nice to have.

After you play around with the adjustsments and drive the car to feel the different settings, the confusion will go away. It's just a learning curve like anything else.
