Cranks!!!

I have a question about buying a crankshaft. Basically I am wondering if it is ever ok to buy a used crank instead of a new one? I spun a rod in the engine in my supra (2jz-gte) and am curious if it would be wise or stupid to by a used one. the price difference between the 2 is about 500 dollars. Enough to make me think about think twice about this decision.

assumeing your crank can not be repaired, i'd just buy a new since i have to buy. when i put my engine together i just had the journals turned down and bought the appropriate bearings for it.
