Has anyone done this ? I need another 1.25" clearance for the crossmember. I do have access to a Tig welder. TIA. 77tony

Have you tried an f-body pan? I don't think they are that deep in that location. That is an expensive pan to cut up. A skilled welder can take care of that for you.

This is a Holley LS Conversion pan. Looked at a few f-body pans and do not think that will work. This is for the "Just Peachy" Porsche 928 LS3 build. TIA. T

If it were me i'd sell the pan(s) and buy an ATS or Autocraft pan. They have alot of room in that area. Sucks that the Holley pan has a curve in that part.

If you are good tig welding AL, go for it. Don't forget to leave room for the pickup.

The Holley pan is 7.72" front-back on the deep part of the pan. The Autokraft pan is 9" and that will hit the crossmember. T

Have you looked at the MAST pan? It is the thinnest I have seen in that area.

That Mast pan is nice, but again, the deep sump comes in approx 1" to far. T

What I remember hearing years ago, pans need to be tightly fitted to a jig to avoid warpage.

I cut & reboxed my crossmember 10 years ago for the rear sump of an f-body pan to fit.

I might be in over my head with my lowly welding skills. Anyone here proficient at taking on this pan please pm 77tony.

I would trade a stock F-body pan, pickup, tray for your holley pan, pickup, tray setup + $100 if you are interested.

Gotta drop the motor back in & take some more measurements. That Mast pan just might work. T

What he said. A friend of mine recently had a truck pan modified to fit his S10 & one end warped and pulled the surface that mates to the block like 1/4".

That's something to keep in mind and remember with LSx engines. The oil pan is structural and has to be aligned when installed on the engine. It's not like the older engines and just bolted to the bottom. You'll need to jig it to be sure it doesn't warp.

If the MAST pan doesn't work, go for the Autokraft and just cut and weld it.
