For as much money as this thing cost me, too many install issues...so much for custom. Here is another issue. Where they put the fittings is blocked by the tank strap supports. What should I do? I'm getting sick of cutting up my car to get this tank to fit. I already slid the tank over to try to gain room. Still more to go....

Can you remove the hardlines and run -6 hose out? The fittings in the top of the tank are pipe thread correct? Can you tighten them up and reclock them so they point in a more favorable position?

They go into the pump...I guess I could have dropped the tank and pulled the pump to see.....I ended up cutting :(

Ok...here is the carnage..I have this problem....I'm impatient, but also OCD....Than perfectionist. Just the way this looks bug the living crud out of me.....Should I find a good welder to make a concave filler?

I think I will look at other options when I get ready to install a tank

When did you start sending them emails? Your first post with the photo is from Nov. 24, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Due to the holiday they may not be answering email until today. You may want to consider calling them and discussing your issue before making any more modifications/cutting.

Hector,

Unfortunatly there is nothing you can really do for me. My biggest issue is here: https://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?94660-Yet-ANOTHER-issue-with-Rick-s-Tanks&p=952336&posted=1#post952336

Rob- I saw the notification for your PM come through on my email this morning along with about 63 other emails i had received over the weekend please excuse me for being out of pocket on a Sunday Evening. As soon as i did see your message i forwarded it to Hector as i knew he was in the shop and ready to do anything he could to assist you. UNFORTUNATELY we were too late and your self admitted "impatience" seemed to have gotten the best of both of us...

We have done about 4-5 Dozen of these series tanks and the only issue we have ever KNOWINGLY had is filler neck related. This is the most common issue we have with all of our tanks most of it has to do with prior history of the car and if it has been involved in a collision etc things move around. We have brought tanks back fixed them and sent back out on their merry way. We probably have about 2 dozen F Body filler neck templates that have been sent in by customers they are all different.

As for the fittings that has never been an issue with your model of tank and if it has been its still unannounced to us.

I looked through My email , Hectors email and , Erics email which the general sales , tech, and info, emails all forward to. I have not seen anything from you. I am not saying you didn't send one but i am saying we NEVER received one from you! Technology is a great thing but its not perfect. If i ordered a pizza through email at Domino and it didn't show up in 30 minutes or less i wouldn't throw them under the bus i would pick up the phone and call them. On a typical day we are here until about 7:00 PM returning calls and if they don't get returned that day they are the first items of duty the following morning.

I apologize on behalf of our company for the issues of our product, anyone that has ever had a problem and voiced it to us we have done everything we can to resolve it. We cant force anyone to allow us to resolve a problem but it is a service we provide unconditionally with every sale we make.

I wish you the best of luck on the remainder of your build.

Rick Guerrero

Rick,

What could be done to the tank outlets? I know I already chopped my car, but if the out-lets can be moved, I can fix the damage easier.

I know my impatience got the best of me...But I ASS-UMED, I would be assed out with $150-$200 shipping that tank back and forth for any serious mods. I thought a little minor trimming would give me room, but it continually got bigger...

Could someone show me a picture of the top of a Ricks tank efi setup? Not vaporworx, just a standard in tank pump setup, like what would be on Robby's tank. Thanks

Thanks! So the tubes are in a fixed position then?....welded in place? I have only dealt with the other stainless tank company before and theirs are pipe thread and then you install a 90* adapter. That is why I didn't understand what the big deal was, I thought you could just clock your fittings and be on your way. I am sure the guys at Ricks will make it right for you.

Yes, they are in a fixed location. I couldnt tell you what is on the other end. The tubes are solid and bend down into the pump retainer.

Hoping to see the tank back soon. I got the carnage welded back up...The only thing holding up the first fire up is the tank. Looks like it won't be before the new year :(

After a long 6 weeks of waiting I got the tank back from Rick. Unfortunately a mis-communication ended me up with a tank with the fittings bent the wrong way not solving my original problem.

Luckily, there was a way to rotate the pump housing to give me the clearance I needed, but it put me in a hard spot to drill another hole in my trunk for the electrical connections because they moved.

The tank is now installed:

Not too thrilled to have more holes in my trunk, but I just didn't have the energy to wait even longer. The whole way Hector and Rick were dedicated to resolving the issue. Didn't end exactly as I would have hoped, but the results are the same. (A running car).

Rick and Hector are dedicated to solid customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or make another purchase. Thank you.
