Hey whats going on guys.. Im building a 1962 impala and im still brain storming on my big brakes upgrade and im leaning towards the new z06 front and rear brakes conversion. Ive been searching and couldnt find much info on this chassis. If there is a similar thread on this subject please send me a link so we can save the hassle and not have a repost.

Im just wondering has it been done or is it possible? Anyone sell a bolt on kit to retro the z06 brakes into these body style? I would like to find a list of whats needed for the conversion.

The car right now pretty much has drums all around and i would be starting from scratch.

I would appreciate any kind of input. Thanks

Just call Tobin...he'll know what you need whether that specific application is on his website or not. Great guy/business to work with.

I will third a call to him, I think he has worked with others to get these brakes on more vehicles than what he has off the shelf parts for. He knows all of the ins/outs of these calipers/rotors too.

It's been done...a few times. Keep in mind that adapting the C6 Z06 brakes is just like adapting the base level C5/C6, C6 Z51 or C6 ZR1 carbon/ceramic brakes, just with different calipers/pads/rotors. Assuming that you intend to run the factory spindles and rear end, adding C6 Z06 brakes basically comes down to having the right caliper mounting brackets, hubs and miscellaneous parts to tie it all together. Like the others have said, give us a call or shoot us an email if you would like to discuss.

If you intend to run aftermarket suspension, that may impact your brake kits, so first you'll want to figure out what you intend to do with respect to spindles and rear axle if they're not going to be stock. Just because it may look like a '62 Impala, if it is rockin' an AME frame with C6 front knuckles and a Ford 9" rear axle, then that is what the brakes need to match...not the body.

^^^ that is the exact answer i was looking for... My build has just started and i didnt want to buy alot of aftermarket parts such as spindles, custom rear axles, etc just to make these brakes fit..

I will definitly get a hold of Kore3 once im ready...

Can you share more about the build? The wheel specs? I'm on the wrong side of the curve with my Belair!
