Was interested in seeing what everyones runs for a differential...open, locked? What locker is best for cornering, etc.? Is it best to leave peg legged to avoid understeer?

Hard to go wrong with an Eaton limited slip for all-around driving.

Got a True-Trac for my 12 bolt, but I haven't installed it yet so I can't give a review. It sure looks nice though.

factory ford limited slip blueprinted with extra clutch packs, nodular case, blueprinted pinion support. set it up while drag racing the car, we'll see how long it holds up turning corners.

LOL-I'm gonna hear it from somebody...7.5 GM with Eaton posi, 1" Richmond ring spacer and 3.73's w/stock axles. I went with the lightest rear with the strongest of three styles of clutch packs GM used and with synthetic fluid, I haven't grenaded it yet! You could say it's either not making enough power or it's built very tuff! I prefer the latter. After talking with the dirt track guys about how heavy a 9" is and the parasitic drag on the motor to turn it, I opted to build a rear that is fairly light and responds quick. It's going strong for 9 years so far....Jabin.

Got a locker in my 9", it's horrible in as short a car as a Monza. Gonna pick up a true trac soon. Had an old racing geared diff (gleason?) That was worn out, but tried it anyway. WOW! It was great, even worn out! (lotsa backlash, shedding metal) I could just dump the clutch from a side street, front wheels cut completely burning the tires, and it would simply let the back end slide out a little, not even full lock, and tuck back in, still burning 'em! The Locker, this would be suicide, or at least a doughnut. I can't explain it, but the geared posi's are so much more drivable!

No clicking/pull when lifting/reapplying throttle in a turn either. The locker is solid, reliable, but has a home in 4X4's or pro/streeters/drag only. It makes the daily grind miserable.

Just my .02 ppm

I was wondering this also: what would be better open, LS, full posi??? for pro-touring.

Well, first off..........

A limited slip is a posi. They are the same thing. There are not half and full posi's either..... its either an open, a traction biasing unit (gear, forcing cone or friction platen type) or a mechanically locking.
