View Full Version : steering column at good guys
I want to finally get a tilt column for my 68 Camaro. At the Good Guys event today, a vendor was selling tilt columns for $179 and said they work with a Camaro as long as I got the "drop kit" with it. The link to these columns is listed below. Does this seem like it would work well or is it worth the extra money to go with Ididit? Thank you!

What happened when you got a screaming deal on your wheels?
Point well taken. I just didn't know if in this case it was necessary going with ididit or flaming river or if you guys were doing something else. Similar to C5/C6 brake set up vs Baer and Wilwood brakes. I know both those brands are badass, but I'm reallllly happy with my vette brakes.

The deal with those columns is that they looked at the two major aftermarket companies product and reverse engineered them and found ways to make them cheaper......much cheaper. However they are, in fact, much cheaper, not just less expensive.
IDIDIT and Flaming River both make quality products here in the USA and stand behind them. I am partial to IDIDIT as some of their internal parts are beefier but have had no problems with either manufacturer.
That's what I was looking for. Do you run a business or just passionate about the hobby? Your replies have always been beneficial.

I agree with Donny 100% on this one. We have used Ididit for quite a while and have had no issues. Had a customer who bought a cheaper column at a swap meet who had several problems within a short span of time (few months). He got fed up and came to us to get an Ididit column. He's been using it for two years now w/o issue and loves it.

Spend the extra and get a good name brand column. I know of a few guys that thought they were saving money by buying the cheaper columns, only to have issues down the road.
